University Students Undermine Support For US

Berry, an athlete who now bears the dubious distinction of being one of the most anti-American Olympians out there, is now infamous for turning her back on the American flag during the “Star Spangled Banner.”

In fact, Berry went as far as to claim that she was “set up” since the song began playing as she walked out onto the field, alongside other athletes.

“I feel like it was a set-up, and they did it on purpose …I was pissed, to be honest …

The anthem doesn’t speak for me … It never has. I didn’t really want to be up there. Like I said, it was a setup. I was hot, I was ready to take my pictures and get into some shade.” [Source: Breitbart]

Talk about the height of self-involvement.

Unfortunately, it appears that Berry’s message has resonated with a persistently leftist, spineless demographic: college students.

Campus Reform interviewed several college students at the University of South Florida, who proceeded to proclaim their embarrassment for being American while simultaneously whining about not having enough “free” things.

“I don’t like being an American, either … Why is there no free health care? Why are so many people suffering because of housing?… And that is such a great example of how f****** corrupt it is here.” [Source: Fox News]

The fact that they think healthcare is truly “free” anywhere underscores the extent to which economic illiteracy has pervaded younger generations, not to mention illiteracy in basic civics.

After all, taxpayers, or people who actually bothered to work, are the ones really paying for “free” healthcare, whereas students lounge around on government-funded student loans, likely using government-funded unemployment, food stamps, and other goodies, appearing to spend far more time on social media than studying.

Ironically while ranting about the “corruption” of the government. If anything is corrupt, it would be allowing an entire generation to waste itself away, on the taxpayers’ dime no less.

Speaking of corruption, perhaps that college students should pay greater attention to what’s going on in Cuba, after all. Or, since they are college students, maybe they shouldn’t, given the insanity being spouted by various “professors” regarding Cuba.

Just consider the repulsive commentary from Nikole Hannah-Jones, the founder of the anti-American Project 1619, as well as an avowed CRT advocate, regarding Cuba.

“If you want to see the most equal, multiracial democ … it’s not a democracy — the most equal, multiracial country in our hemisphere, it would be Cuba … Cuba has the least inequality between black and white people of any place really in the hemisphere …

“I mean, the Caribbean — most of the Caribbean, it’s hard to count because the white population in a lot of those countries is very, very small, they’re countries run by black folks, but in places that are truly at least biracial countries, Cuba actually has the least inequality, and that’s largely due to socialism, which I’m sure no one wants to hear.” [Source: The New York Post]

Gotta love how she stumbles over the word “democracy.” Then again, it would be a foreign concept to people like her.

And for the record, Ms. Hannah-Jones, “no one wants to hear” what you have to say because of your clearly abject hatred for the United States, not to mention most of the people within it.

By the way, Cuba is a communist country, not a socialist one.

Did it ever occur to Ms. Hannah-Jones that Cuba has the most “equality” because the vast majority of individuals are extremely poor, lacking basic access to multiple comforts in life that leftist Americans clearly take for free?

Moreover, did it over occur to Ms. Hannah-Jones that scores of Cubans wouldn’t be fleeing the nation, not to mention protesting outside the Biden White House, if they were so happy with the “equality” they receive on the nation?

Hannah-Jones also left out rather “inconvenient facts,” which she is ironically so fond of saying, including the fact that Cuba has long has long held a deserved reputation for political persecution, including all the horrific practices that go along with it.

Now that is real “corruption,” which the aforementioned college brat wouldn’t know if it smashed them in the face, considering they immerse themselves within it daily across leftist indoctrination centers, otherwise known as American universities.

As far as Ms. Hannah-Jones is concerned, what can be expected from an “educator” who recently threw a national tantrum after University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, initially did not offer her tenure?

Which, for reference, was rather reasonable, given that Hannah-Jones does not even have a PhD, generally a bare minimum requirement for tenure to even be considered.

Nonetheless, Hannah-Jones cynically calculated that the American public wouldn’t know this fact, and decided to smear the university in the press, alleging racism as the reason that she did not receive tenure.

UNC then rapidly did an about-face, offering her tenure after all (an indirect slap in the face to people who actually bothered to get a PhD), only for Hannah-Jones to publicly reject the offer and take a position elsewhere.

And Hannah-Jones, unfortunately, is just one of many anti-American professors proliferating throughout the universities, which merely serves to reinforce China’s increasingly troubling influence on Western education.

Which is reflected in the total ingratitude of college students, including one who has bizarrely cited “Blue Lives Matter” as a reason to not support the United States in the Olympics.

“I’m not proud to live in a country where I can’t even go down in my own neighborhood [without seeing] people putting up their Blue Lives Matter flags telling me that my life doesn’t matter.” [Source: The Blaze]

Ok then …

Only in American universities could such nonsense be remotely tolerated … or, sadly, encouraged.
