Looks like one billionaire is really going to send Bernie Sanders into a rage …
Especially since said billionaire has just donated a pretty chunk of change to continue funding the border wall in Texas.
That’s right: While Biden may have illegally ceased funding for the border wall (given that Congress had approved the funds for it previously), a billionaire has stepped in to save the day.
And while the leftists will surely fly into a fit of rage, Governor Abbott, not to mention a significant percentage of the nation that actually cares about national security, will surely be thrilled with the latest developments in building a wall that has been long overdue.
Abbott has sought for the border wall, a funding push that started during the summer, after it became clear that the Biden administration had apparently zero interest in protecting Texans.
“I will also be providing a link that you can click on and go to, for everybody in the United States, everybody in the entire world who wants to help Texas build a border wall, there will be a place on there where they can contribute to Texas building the border wall …
They go to a fund in the state of Texas – not a private entity, not an individual … They will be received by the state of Texas in the governor’s office, great transparency, everyone will know every penny in, every penny out. But the sole purpose of those funds will be going to build the border wall.” [Source: Fox News]
As of now, billionaire Timothy Mellon has provided approximately 98 percent of the $54M in funds that Abbott began to seek during the summer.
Given the enormous influx in cash, actual progress on the border wall may commence, and national security may be addressed by individual Americans and states themselves, rather than the federal overlords who appear intent on destroying the nation.
Furthermore, Abbott has also allied himself strongly with several other GOP Representatives, several of whom are collaborating together to address the ongoing fiasco at the border.
In addition to soliciting funds for the border wall, Abbott, along with Arizona Governor Ducey, had also issued an open call for other states to join them in combating the border crisis, given that the Biden administration, including Climate “Czar” Kamala, can’t even be bothered to show up at the border, much less do something about it.
In a joint letter, both Abbott and Ducey pleaded for other governors to help them combat the overwhelming surge of immigrants, especially as the crisis continued to escalate over the summer.
“Given the staggering number of violations now occurring in Texas and Arizona, additional manpower is needed from any state that can spare it … Border states like Texas and Arizona are ‘ground zero’ for this crisis and bear a disproportionate share of these burdens …
Securing our border with Mexico is the federal government’s responsibility. But the Biden Administration has proven unwilling or unable to do the job. This failure to enforce federal immigration laws causes banns that spill over into every State.” [Source: Townhall]
Fortunately, just as Abbott received a strong response to the solicitation of funds for the border wall, Abbott and Ducey have received a favorable response to their letter, with eight different GOP governors announcing their plans to visit the border and help deal with the escalating crisis.
These governors hail from Ohio, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Idaho, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Iowa.
Needless to say, assistance from these governors (not to mention border wall funding) can’t come soon enough, especially since cartels have become increasingly empowered along the border.
Biden’s own CBP Chief, Raul Ortiz, has openly admitted to cartels running the border, at least to an extent.
“You’ve got to manage these groups [of illegal immigrants arriving in the US]. And why are they doing this? Because the cartels are dictating, right? They’re telling these groups, ‘I want you to cross here’ …and then when that happens ‘we’re going to slide our narcotics through over here, or maybe aliens who are criminal aliens, we’re going to try to get them through over here.’ What we can’t do is lose sight of the fact that they’re trying to do this.” [Source: Townhall]
