Biden Rebels Against WHO — Doubles Down On Unconstitutional Mandates

So much for the Democrats’ so-called concerns about equity.

After all, if the Democrats were so concerned about equity for all, they likely wouldn’t be blowing off the WHO, which has routinely begged the current administration to stop greedily hogging vaccines at the expense of the rest of the world.

Now, the WHO is begging for governments to pause and reconsider vaccine mandates, noting that such draconian measures should only be considered as a “last resort.”

WHO European Director Dr. Hans Kluge made the organization’s position explicitly clear in a recent statement.

“Mandates around vaccination are an absolute last resort and only applicable when all feasible options to improve vaccination uptake have been exhausted.” [Source: OANN]

Kluge also noted that such mandates will grossly exacerbate global inequality, a concern the Biden administration apparently no longer has when it’s convenient.

“Ultimately, mandates should never contribute to increasing social inequalities in access to health and social services … Any measure that may restrict a right or movement of a person, such as lockdowns or mandates, also needs to assure that mental health and wellbeing is cared for.” [Source: OANN]

Given that the Biden administration doesn’t even care about the physical well-being of Americans, as evidenced by wide open borders allowing violent criminals to stream in, it is safe to say that the “mental health” of Americans is of even lower concern.

After all, this is an administration that thinks nothing of punitive lockdowns for law-abiding citizens and a free-for-all, accountability-free world for criminal enterprises.

Kluge also emphasized that such mandates would undermine public trust, which is rather humorous when considering that the Biden administration allegedly strove to build back public trust.

“The effect that mandating vaccination could have on public confidence and public trust, as well as vaccination uptake, must be considered … What is acceptable in one society and community may not be effective and acceptable in another.” [Source: OANN]

Too bad the Democrats didn’t get that note. After all, according to most ultra-leftists, any thought that differs from their own is “unacceptable” in any context.

Fortunately, Republicans are heeding the advice of the WHO, especially with SJRes29, a recently created bill designed to overturn the OHSA’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate on private companies.

Senator Rand Paul intends to pursue this overturn via the Congressional Review Act, noting that the vaccine mandate situation is quite “special.”

“This is a special situation, what we call a privileged motion. It is a real bill and it would be a law but it has to be signed by the president. We can do this any time that there’s a regulation or a rule put out … This resolution, which we’re going to pass today, all 50 Republicans will vote for it and the word is that Sen. [Joe] Manchin will join us. So we will end up winning this vote.” [Source: The Blaze]

Not only has Manchin joined the Republicans, he’s apparently co-sponsored the bill.

“I do not support any government vaccine mandate on private businesses. That’s why I have cosponsored and will strongly support a bill to overturn the federal government vaccine mandate for private businesses.” [Source: The Blaze]

Amen!

However, it appears that the White House is predictably blowing off the WHO and the Republicans yet again, as evidenced by Psaki’s most recent, rather snide, commentary on vaccine mandates.

“We are confident in our ability, legally, to make [these mandates] happen across the country.” [Source: Townhall]

Well then. So much for “unity” and “equity” …
