Trump Hurls Curveball At Civil Probe

In a move that surely surprised Democrats, former President Donald J. Trump, alongside his children, have reached an agreement to testify in an ongoing civil probe predictably launched in New York over the business practices of Trump Organization.

The Trump Organization is well known for its sprawling collection of hotels, golf courses, and other prized real estate around the world.

Trump, alongside Ivanka and Don Jr., is anticipated to deliver testimony on July 15, though they have until June 13 to request an additional delay for varied reasons.

Previously, Trump and his children had made an effort to avoid testifying, noting that their participation in the civil probe would constitute a violation of their rights, namely that any of their words could be utilized in a separate criminal investigation launched by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg.

Consequently, the agreement for the Trumps to testify emerged following a denial issued by an intermediate appeals court.

The investigation into the business practices of Trump Organization is well over three years in the making, with New York State Attorney General Letitia James, who is a Democrat, spearheading the effort.

Per James, the Trump Organization engaged in misstating asset valuations, ostensibly to receive varied benefits, from tax breaks to favorable loan terms.

James is also well known for launching an investigation that eventually brought down Democrat governor Andrew Cuomo, who exerted tremendous effort in thwarting her investigation.

Former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo is also notorious for meddling in James’s investigation, chiefly by weaponizing the resources of the news network to intimidate or otherwise discredit women who had come forward against his brother.

However, the tenacity of James resulted in the eventual resignation of Cuomo.
